| Messengers of Dharma - M.O.D. |
| Messengers of Dharma is a Buddhist singing group that hails from two leading Sunday Schools in Malaysia. Majority have their roots in Seck Kia Eenh Dhamma School, Malacca where they grew up and made it their second home. There, they were exposed to Buddhist songs - a new Dhamma propagation medium. The rest of the singers orginated from the Buddhist Institute Sunday Dhamma School (BISDS) in Brickfields where they teach in the weekly Sunday classes. In November 2004, this group of singers gathered together and formed the Messengers of Dharma with the singular aim of sharing the message of the Buddha's teachings to the masses. Knowing that music and songs are very powerful Dhamma doors especially amongst the youths, M.O.D. aspires to share this ancient message with a modern flavour. Thus, their first album aptly named "Aspiration" was released in May 2005. This was followed by "Jaya Mangala Gatha which was made available to the Buddhist community in May 2007. "The Story of Dona" was released in the same year in December for FREE as a single CD. And in conjunction with this year's Vesak, M.O.D. released their 4th CD - the Vesak Sing-Along Series 1. This CD album is available for FREE and downloadable from this website. M.O.D. Singers: Simon Tan, Roland Lee, Cedric Tan, Nancy Peng, Yong May Jen, Emily Lim, Jacqueline Lim and Tracy Poh.
